Ten-time NBA All-Star Carmelo Anthony has touched down in Taiwan just days before his official induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.

The 41-year-old, better known as “Melo,” arrived at Taoyuan International Airport around 5 a.m. Friday. On Saturday, he will make a public appearance at the GQ Style Fest held at Warehouse No. 4 in Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Taipei. During the event, Anthony will meet fans and pose for photos, with 80 queue numbers distributed by GQ staff starting from 9:30 a.m., plus 20 backup slots.
Anthony, the third overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft, built a reputation as one of the league’s most gifted scorers. With his signature jab step and smooth pull-up jumper, he amassed 28,289 career points over 19 NBA seasons, placing him 10th on the all-time scoring list. His accolades include a 2012-13 scoring title, six All-NBA selections, and three Olympic gold medals with Team USA. He was also honored as one of the NBA’s 75 greatest players.
After announcing his retirement in 2023, Anthony was elected to the Hall of Fame earlier this year. On September 6, he will be officially enshrined, recognized not only for his NBA career but also for his role on the 2008 U.S. Olympic “Redeem Team,” which secured gold at the Beijing Games.
