World No. 4 pair Goh Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin Rumsani began their Australian Open campaign with authority, defeating Taiwan’s He Zhi Wei–Huang Jui-Hsuan 21-10, 21-10 in just 24 minutes today.

Competing in their final tournament of the season, the pair showed sharp focus and strong intent after narrowly missing out on a World Tour Finals qualification last week in Kumamoto.
In another men’s doubles match, Nur Azriyn Ayub–Tan Wee Kiong came heartbreakingly close to making it an all-Malaysian second-round clash but fell short 21-19, 13-21, 22-20 against Denmark’s Christian Faust Kjaer–Rasmus Kjaer.
