LaMelo Ball may have begun a new chapter with the Minnesota Timberwolves, but it’s his former Charlotte penthouse that’s stealing the spotlight after a video of the property went viral.
The former Charlotte Hornets guard, known for his flashy personality both on and off the court, recently moved out of the luxury apartment he once purchased after initially renting it. Previously owned by former NFL star Cam Newton, the penthouse had clearly been transformed into Ball’s unique personal space.
The viral clip revealed eye-catching features including framed stacks of cash reportedly worth US$10,000, alien-themed artwork and an extensive collection of colourful sneakers, quickly sparking reactions across social media.
Fans didn’t hold back with their opinions, with many saying the home perfectly reflected Ball’s personality. Some joked it looked like “the inside of his mind,” while others compared it to what would happen if “a middle school kid had hundreds of millions of dollars.” Another fan humorously suggested Ball should “get an interior designer.”
Despite the online criticism, Ball has never been one to worry about public opinion. As he prepares for his first season with the Timberwolves, he’ll be hoping his performances on the court attract more attention than his interior decorating choices.
