Malaysia’s Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik are back together for the 2026 BWF World Championships, but they are refusing to get distracted by their potentially tricky draw.

The world No. 4 pair received a first-round bye and could face compatriots Man Wei Chong and Tee Kai Wun in the last 16. However, Aaron insists their focus is simply on taking things one match at a time.
Aaron and Soh were split up during recent BWF World Tour events as Malaysia experimented with new combinations. Aaron partnered Aaron Tai, while Soh teamed up with Man Wei Chong.
Despite the temporary separation, Aaron believes their years of experience together mean they should have little trouble finding their rhythm again.
The duo, who won Malaysia’s first men’s doubles world title in 2022, will now aim to rediscover their chemistry in New Delhi, with Aaron saying he feels no pressure heading into the tournament.
