Veteran big man Al Horford is considering retirement as he evaluates multiple free-agent offers, according to The Boston Globe. The 39-year-old recently completed a two-year, $19.5 million deal with the Celtics, ending it with an NBA title in 2024.

Though the Golden State Warriors have reportedly made Horford their top target to replace Kevon Looney, Horford is taking his time before making a decision. Per NBA insider Marc Stein, the Warriors are “waiting” on the veteran’s call.
Golden State sees Horford as a stabilizing force—his leadership, size, and floor spacing could complement Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler well. Last season, he averaged 9.0 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists while shooting 36.3% from three.
Horford, a five-time All-Star and 2007 No. 3 pick, now faces a final career decision: suit up for a 19th NBA season with the Warriors or walk away from the game on a high note.
