Alex Albon Reflects on Best F1 Season Yet with Williams

Alex Albon says 2025 has been his strongest Formula 1 season so far, crediting Williams’ progress and his own consistency behind the wheel.

The Thai-British driver made his F1 debut in 2019 with Toro Rosso before earning a mid-season promotion to Red Bull. However, after struggling in 2020, he lost his seat and spent 2021 as a reserve driver. In 2022, Albon returned to the grid with Williams, replacing George Russell, and has since become a key figure in the team’s resurgence.

Now in his fourth season with Williams, Albon has enjoyed standout results in 2025, securing three fifth-place finishes in Australia, Miami, and Imola. Currently sitting eighth in the Drivers’ Standings with 54 points, he is only 10 points behind Mercedes rookie Kimi Antonelli.

Reflecting on his season, Albon said: “I would say so, yeah. So far. Let’s see how the second half goes, but I think I’ve been driving well. I’ve been consistent, taking opportunities, not making mistakes, and now we have a car that allows me to score points. That wasn’t necessarily the case when I first joined Williams.”

Albon also praised the team for its progress, saying Williams have found a strong rhythm this year as they target fifth in the Constructors’ Standings: “Really proud of everyone. I feel like as a team we’ve made a huge step. It’s been one of those years where everything is in a good flow state and we just go to every weekend scoring points.”
