An Se-young has made Asian Games history, becoming the first woman to win back-to-back badminton singles titles after defeating Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi 21-17, 21-9 in the final.

The South Korean world No.1 recovered from a slow start before taking control, winning 12 of the final 14 points in the opening game. She then dominated the second to seal another convincing victory.
The 24-year-old has now won her eighth title of 2026, including her second World Championship in August. She has also not lost a match since March.
An Se-young is already the reigning Olympic and world champion. Now she has another piece of Asian Games history to her name.
