Ben Simmons Attracts Western Conference Interest Ahead of NBA Comeback

Ben Simmons is taking steps toward an NBA return after sitting out the entire 2025-26 season while focusing on recovering from the back problems that have affected his career since 2021.

The former Philadelphia 76ers star is now preparing to showcase his fitness by joining the Australian national team’s training camp in Melbourne. Simmons is reportedly funding the opportunity himself as he works toward regaining his form.

His comeback has already attracted interest from around the NBA. According to NBA insider Marc J. Spears, a Western Conference team has offered the 30-year-old a training camp invitation, although the identity of the franchise has not been revealed.

Simmons is believed to be targeting at least a guaranteed veteran minimum contract for the 2026-27 season as he looks to prove he can remain healthy and contribute at the highest level.

The three-time All-Star could appeal to teams looking for additional playmaking, defensive versatility and size in the backcourt. The Los Angeles Lakers and Phoenix Suns could potentially benefit from his skill set, particularly if they need another ball-handler and defensive presence.

After a lengthy absence from the NBA, Simmons now has an opportunity to show teams that he is ready to make another comeback.
