Cadillac’s highly anticipated Formula 1 project has finally revealed its first-ever driver lineup. After months of speculation and a rigorous selection process, the American team has announced Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez as their drivers for the upcoming season.

The journey to this decision was meticulous. According to insiders, Cadillac initially compiled a list of more than 15 potential candidates—though Daniel Ricciardo was never in contention. This list was later narrowed down to four pairings, balancing experience and youth.
Ultimately, Bottas and Perez stood out thanks to their combined experience, leadership qualities, and technical expertise. Together, they boast multiple race victories and over 100 podium finishes. Cadillac leadership emphasized that these attributes were critical to their choice as they prepare for the immense challenge of entering F1.
General Motors is going all-in on this new venture, establishing state-of-the-art facilities across Silverstone, Indiana, and North Carolina. With plans to develop their own power unit by 2029, Cadillac aims to position itself as a strong contender from the start.
“This is about building a competitive team from the ground up,” said GM President Mark Reuss. “Having drivers with such experience gives us the best chance to accelerate our development and succeed on the biggest stage.”
The addition of Bottas and Perez marks a significant milestone in Cadillac’s F1 journey, signaling their commitment to making an impact in the world’s most prestigious motorsport.
