World mixed doubles champions Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei are setting their sights on SEA Games glory in Thailand from Dec 7-14. The national pair have been tasked with nothing less than bringing home gold, with coach Nova Widianto confident in their abilities.
Their main challenge will be home favourites Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran, who have beaten them in three straight meetings this year, with Tang Jie-Ee Wei’s only win against the Thais coming at the Indian Open.
Ee Wei said: “Our aim is the gold medal. We focus on our own preparation, staying disciplined in every training session, and giving our best for Malaysia. Win or lose, that will come later.”
The duo last won the SEA Games mixed doubles title in 2021. Ee Wei also paid tribute to her mother, Jane Yeo, whose 33-year career at Mamee has inspired her dedication.
