Warner Bros. has secured the rights to “With the 8th Pick,” a film that will explore the dramatic events leading to Kobe Bryant joining the Lakers in 1996.
The movie focuses on how close Kobe was to being drafted by the New Jersey Nets, before ending up as the 13th pick by the Charlotte Hornets and then traded to the Lakers, where he became an icon with 5 NBA championships.
Expect vibes similar to Moneyball and Air, showing how one decision could’ve changed NBA history.
