Lee Zii Jia Set to Make Comeback at 2025 World Championships

Lee Zii Jia is making a strong return to the court. The independent men’s singles shuttler is gearing up for the World Championships in Paris, scheduled from August 25 to 31.

A recent video shared on his social media shows the former Asian champion, dressed in pink, performing multiple jumping smashes, indicating that his right ankle is recovering well.

Zii Jia suffered a serious injury during the World Tour Finals last December. His attempted comebacks at the Orleans Masters and All-England in March only worsened the issue, leading him to request a protected ranking from the Badminton World Federation (BWF).

The Paris World Championships will mark his first tournament in five months. He will open his campaign against South Korea’s Jeon Hyeok-jin in the first round.

Malaysia’s men’s singles hopes will also include Leong Jun Hao, who faces Switzerland’s Tobias Kuenzi in his opening match.
