Nicolaj ‘Jensen’ Jensen Retires After Legendary League of Legends Career

Nicolaj ‘Jensen’ Jensen has officially retired from professional League of Legends, ending a career that spanned over a decade and cemented him as one of North America’s most iconic mid laners.

The Danish star, known for his sharp mechanics and consistency, announced his decision in August 2025 via a social media video, saying he had “experienced everything I needed to” and was ready to explore life beyond the demands of pro play.

Jensen first rose to prominence in 2012 under the name Incarnati0n, but an in-game behaviour ban in 2013 briefly halted his ambitions. After coaching SK Gaming in 2014, he returned to competition in 2015 with Cloud9, replacing Hai ‘Hai’ Du Lam. He went on to qualify for Worlds in each of his first eight seasons, helping C9 reach the Worlds semi-finals in 2018 — the first North American team to do so since the game’s earliest competitive days.

In 2019, Jensen joined Team Liquid, winning both LCS Spring and Summer Splits and reaching the MSI Final after a famous upset over Invictus Gaming. Later stints included a return to Cloud9 in 2022, where he won another LCS title, and spells with Dignitas and FlyQuest.

Over his career, Jensen claimed three LCS championships, multiple All-Pro honours, and a reputation for excelling on the international stage. His stability, adaptability, and long-term presence helped define the standard for elite mid lane play in North America.
