Wales’ World Cup qualifier against Belgium took a bizarre turn when play was halted due to a rat running onto the pitch in Cardiff.
Craig Bellamy’s side had taken an early lead through Joe Rodon, but the match was paused in the 66th minute after a rat appeared near Brennan Johnson, who looked stunned before helping chase it off the field.
Fans quickly reacted online, joking that the rodent was the “man of the match.”
Belgium eventually ran out 4-2 winners, with Kevin De Bruyne scoring twice from the penalty spot to keep his side on course for the World Cup finals.
The result leaves Wales facing another tense play-off route in March if they are to qualify for the USA 2026 tournament.
