Young Malaysian shuttlers Aaron Tai and Kang Khai Xing have officially entered the world’s top 50, marking another promising step for the nation’s men’s doubles depth.

The 19-year-olds climbed from No. 57 to No. 46 in the latest world rankings after capturing their first World Tour Super 300 title at the Syed Modi India International in Lucknow. The 2024 world junior champions also lifted the Malaysia Super 100 title in October, signalling strong progress as they transition into senior competition.
Their rise means Malaysia now boast nine men’s doubles pairs inside the top 50 — a testament to the country’s growing strength in the discipline.
The list includes:
Aaron Chia–Soh Wooi Yik (No. 2), Goh Sze Fei–Nur Izzuddin (No. 4), Man Wei Chong–Tee Kai Wun (No. 5), Roy King–Wan Arif (No. 17), Tan Wee Kiong–Nur Azriyn (No. 28), Ong Yew Sin–Teo Ee Yi (No. 29), Haikal–Hon Jian (No. 34), and Weijie–Sheng Hao (No. 36).
“We’re happy with what we’ve achieved so far and want to maintain our performance. Winning in India gives us more confidence,” said Aaron.
Khai Xing added that they are adapting better to the senior circuit after a challenging start to the year: “We went through ups and downs, but we’re slowly getting our rhythm back.”
