England’s referees chief Howard Webb backed the decision to rule out West Ham United’s late equaliser against Arsenal, saying goalkeeper David Raya was clearly fouled during the incident.

West Ham thought they had rescued a point when Callum Wilson scored deep into stoppage time, but the goal was overturned after VAR review showed Pablo impeded Raya during the corner situation.
Webb explained that goalkeepers must be protected when their movement or ability to challenge for the ball is restricted, adding that officials made the correct call. The controversial decision secured Arsenal a crucial 1-0 victory in the Premier League title race.
