Anthony Sinisuka Ginting Returns to Malaysia Masters Main Draw After Three-Year Absence

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting has secured a place in the main draw of the Malaysia Masters after being elevated from the qualifying rounds following the withdrawals of top seeds Shi Yu Qi and Anders Antonsen.

The Indonesian shuttler will make his first appearance at the tournament since 2023, when he exited in the Round of 16 against Weng Hong Yang.

Continuing his return from injury, the former world No. 2 first competed in the event in 2015 and recorded his best finish in 2017, reaching the semifinals before falling to Ng Ka Long.

Ginting is set to begin his campaign on Wednesday against Malaysian player Justin Hoh. Meanwhile, fellow Indonesian Jonatan Christie has moved into the top position in the draw following Shi’s withdrawal and the resulting seed adjustments.

In the women’s doubles competition, Malaysian pair and top seeds Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan have also withdrawn from the tournament.
