Brunson Takes Early Lead in Finals MVP Race

After a dominant Game 1 performance, Jalen Brunson has climbed to the top of the NBA Finals MVP Ladder. The Knicks star scored 30 points and sparked New York’s comeback victory over the Spurs, putting himself in pole position for the Bill Russell Finals MVP award.

Second on the ladder is Karl-Anthony Towns, whose all-around impact helped New York control key stretches of Game 1. His ability to challenge San Antonio’s frontcourt, particularly Victor Wembanyama, has strengthened his early MVP case.

Despite the loss, Victor Wembanyama remains firmly in contention. The Spurs superstar posted strong numbers but struggled with efficiency and turnovers in his Finals debut.

Other notable contenders include Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper, who have played key roles throughout San Antonio’s playoff run.

With the Knicks now holding a 2-0 series lead, Brunson remains the favorite, but the Finals MVP race is still wide open as the series shifts to New York for Game 3.
