Mohamed Salah is edging closer to a move to Turkish side Trabzonspor after the club confirmed it has entered transfer negotiations with the Egyptian superstar.

Trabzonspor announced that Salah is scheduled to arrive at Istanbul Ataturk Airport on Wednesday before travelling to Trabzon later that day to continue discussions over a potential deal.
The 34-year-old became a free agent after ending a remarkable nine-year spell with Liverpool, where he established himself as one of the club’s greatest-ever players. During his time at Anfield, Salah scored 257 goals in 442 appearances, winning the UEFA Champions League and two Premier League titles while becoming Liverpool’s third-highest goalscorer of all time.
Salah also ranks fourth on the Premier League’s all-time scoring list with 193 goals, including 191 for Liverpool.
Despite a difficult final season in which he managed just seven league goals, Salah remains one of world football’s biggest names. He also represented Egypt at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, helping the Pharaohs reach the knockout stage for the first time since 1934.
Trabzonspor, who finished third in the Turkish Super Lig last season to secure a Europa League play-off spot, are hoping to land the Egyptian forward ahead of the new campaign. Salah had also attracted interest from fellow Turkish club Besiktas.
On the international stage, Salah has scored 66 goals in 119 appearances for Egypt and is widely regarded as one of Africa’s greatest footballers.
