Youri Tielemans made his Manchester United debut in the 1-1 draw with Paris Saint-Germain, playing just 26 minutes but already showing signs of a promising partnership with Bruno Fernandes.
The Belgian came on after Mason Mount was forced off with a foot injury. Despite limited time, Tielemans impressed with his passing, composure and intelligent positioning.
What caught United’s attention most was his quick combination play with Fernandes. Their short passes helped United escape pressure and move forward, potentially giving Fernandes more freedom in attack.
Fernandes was hugely influential last season with nine goals and 21 assists, and Tielemans could help ease some of the creative burden on the Portuguese midfielder.
It was only a brief cameo, but Tielemans’ debut offered an encouraging glimpse of what he could bring to United.
