George Russell has delighted the Formula 1 community after announcing his engagement to long-time partner Carmen Montero Mundt.
The Mercedes driver shared the exciting news in a joint social media post featuring several photos from their engagement. One of the pictures showed Carmen proudly displaying her engagement ring, while another captured Russell smiling in the background as she showed off the ring.
The announcement quickly attracted huge attention from fans, with the post collecting more than 2.3 million likes and around 40,000 congratulatory comments within 12 hours.
Fans flooded the couple with messages celebrating the milestone, while Formula 1’s official account also congratulated the pair.
Russell and Carmen have been together since 2020 after meeting through a mutual friend in London. Their relationship has since become one of the most recognisable among the F1 community.
The engagement makes Russell and Carmen the latest F1 couple to take the next step in their relationship as they prepare to begin a new chapter together.
