Barcelona have reportedly reached an agreement to sell Spain forward Ferran Torres to Paris Saint-Germain for almost €50 million (US$57 million), according to Spanish media.

The 26-year-old is set to join the French champions on a five-year contract, with the remaining paperwork and medical examination expected to be completed soon.

Barcelona had rejected an initial €40 million offer from PSG earlier this week, but the two European giants have now reached a deal that could see the Catalan club receive close to €50 million.

Torres joined Barcelona from Manchester City in 2021 for more than €55 million. Since Hansi Flick took charge in 2024, he has primarily operated as a centre-forward and served as a backup to Robert Lewandowski.

Despite not always being a regular starter, Torres has remained an important attacking option for Barcelona, scoring 40 goals in 94 appearances across all competitions over the past two seasons.

His stock rose further after he scored Spain’s winning goal in extra time of last month’s World Cup final against Argentina, helping La Roja secure their second World Cup title.

The proposed move would leave Barcelona needing to strengthen their attack even further, particularly after the departures of Lewandowski and Marcus Rashford.

The Catalan giants have already moved to refresh their attacking options by signing England international Anthony Gordon from Newcastle and Karim Adeyemi from Borussia Dortmund.
