Vlahovic Joins Besiktas On Three-Year Deal After Juventus Exit

Serbian striker Dusan Vlahovic has completed his move to Besiktas, signing a three-year contract with the Turkish club after ending his spell at Juventus.

The 26-year-old forward, whose contract with the Serie A giants expired this summer, will reportedly earn €7.5 million (US$8.6 million) per season in Istanbul.

Vlahovic received a warm welcome from Besiktas supporters when he arrived in Istanbul on Wednesday, with the Serbia international immediately setting his sights on success.

“We want to be champions,” Vlahovic said upon his arrival.

The striker joined Juventus from Fiorentina in 2022 and went on to score 68 goals in 168 appearances for the Turin club. He enjoyed one of his most productive Serie A campaigns in 2023-24, finishing as the league’s second-highest scorer with 16 goals.

However, his final season in Italy was disrupted by injuries and a decline in his position within Juventus’ attacking hierarchy. After returning from a lengthy thigh injury last April, Vlahovic suffered a calf problem and finished the league campaign with only seven goals.

At Besiktas, he will join Belgian forward Leandro Trossard, who arrived from Arsenal in July, as the Turkish club looks to strengthen its attack.

Besiktas have struggled to challenge city rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce in recent seasons, having last won the Turkish league title in 2021. Vlahovic’s arrival is expected to provide the club with an experienced goalscorer as they aim to return to the top of Turkish football.
