Former world champions Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik will reunite after next month’s Asian Games, with the pair set to begin a fresh campaign aimed at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

Lee Chong Wei confirmed that their partnership will resume during the European tour, starting with the Denmark Open in October, followed by the French Open.

Aaron is currently partnering Tee Kai Wun for the Asian Games, while Wooi Yik will not compete in the tournament.

The reunion comes after Aaron and Wooi Yik were temporarily split to test different combinations. Despite the changes, their strong run to the 2026 World Championship final showed that the duo still have plenty to offer.

Now, Malaysia will hope their reunion can produce another successful Olympic cycle — but with Los Angeles 2028 already in sight, the pressure will be on them to rediscover their best form.
