Pearly Tan’s Love for Badminton Fuels French Open Title Dream With Thinaah

Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah are just one win away from capturing their second French Open title, but for Pearly, the real focus is on enjoying the game rather than worrying about the result.

The Malaysian pair booked their place in Sunday’s final with a straight-games victory over Japan’s Rin Iwanaga and Kie Nakanishi, winning 21-17, 22-20 despite facing intense pressure in the second game.

After battling injuries and self-doubt, Pearly is learning to trust her game again. Her simple mindset is to enjoy every rally and every shot, believing that focusing on the process will help bring out her best performance.

The duo, who won the French Open in 2022 and claimed the Denmark Open crown last week, are now aiming to become the first Malaysian women’s doubles pair to win back-to-back World Tour Super 750 titles. Standing in their way are Japan’s Yuki Fukushima and Mayu Matsutomo, against whom they have lost their last four meetings.
