Jamal Musiala made a dream return to Bayern Munich’s starting lineup, scoring the opening goal in a dominant 5-0 Champions League victory over Bodo/Glimt.
The Germany international marked his comeback in style after missing two matches following a neurological condition that caused him to collapse during pre-season.
Musiala was mobbed by his Bayern teammates after finding the net, capping an emotional return to the pitch.
“Scoring a goal – pure happiness,” Musiala told DAZN. “I just want to get back to my level step by step, playing with a sense of ease, joy, and fun on the pitch.”
Michael Olise added two goals, while Harry Kane and Alphonso Davies also got on the scoresheet as the six-time European champions produced a commanding performance.
Kane was particularly pleased to see Musiala back among the goals after what had been a difficult start to the campaign.
“He had a tough time at the start of the season,” Kane said.
Musiala’s return provides Bayern with another major attacking option as they continue their Champions League campaign, while the emphatic victory keeps the German giants in strong form.
For Musiala, however, the biggest victory was simply being back on the pitch — and celebrating a goal with his teammates once again.
