No Quick Fix for Struggling Zii Jia

ee Zii Jia’s struggles continue to raise concerns, but badminton legend Foo Kok Keong believes the Malaysian needs support rather than more pressure.

Zii Jia’s latest setback came at the Vietnam Open, where he suffered a shock second-round defeat to world No. 88 Wu Zhe-ying despite the tournament being seen as a chance to rebuild his confidence.

Kok Keong does not believe the problem is necessarily coach Liew Daren’s training methods. Instead, he feels Zii Jia may need someone he trusts to talk to and help identify the weaknesses affecting his game. Lee Chong Wei has also offered to help the Paris Olympics bronze medallist.

This isn’t about finding a quick fix. Zii Jia may simply need the right support to find his way back.
