Malaysia’s Aidil Sholeh Ali Sadikin produced a stunning performance to beat Singapore’s top seed Jason Teh 21-16, 21-14 and win the Vietnam Open. The world No. 91 needed just 45 minutes to defeat the world No. 33.
The victory ends Aidil’s 18-month wait for a title, with his previous triumph coming at the Sri Lanka International Challenge in March 2025. It also marks his second win over Jason after beating him at the Malaysia Super 100 three years ago.
The 26-year-old independent shuttler takes home US$8,250 (around RM33,580) for his breakthrough victory.
