Cristiano Ronaldo has once again made his stance clear, declaring himself the greatest footballer in history while insisting his goalscoring achievements are not receiving the recognition they deserve.

“The best in history is me, full stop,” the Al-Nassr star said in an interview with CNN Portugal. At 41, Ronaldo has scored 981 goals in 1,338 professional appearances for club and country, including a record 146 goals for Portugal.
Despite closing in on the remarkable 1,000-goal milestone, Ronaldo says he is not obsessing over the target, preferring to let things happen naturally. He also admitted that he does not know how long his motivation to keep playing will last.
His bold comments have reignited the age-old debate over football’s greatest player, with Lionel Messi inevitably part of the conversation.
Do you agree with Ronaldo, or does Messi still have the stronger case as the greatest of all time?
