Michael Carrick has defended Manchester United’s start to the Premier League season despite the growing concerns over their defence.
United have collected just four points from their opening three games, including a defeat to newly promoted Hull City and a dramatic 2-2 draw with Everton, where they conceded a 96th-minute equaliser.
Carrick insists the situation is “not that bad”, pointing to United’s attacking performances and the fact they were twice in front against Everton. However, conceding late goals has become a worrying pattern.
United have now conceded six goals in three league games, while their next league match is a huge clash against Manchester City, who have made a perfect start.
