Malaysian mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei have shown encouraging form in training ahead of the World Championships, which begin Monday (Aug. 25) in Paris.

National doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky highlighted the improvements over the past two weeks, noting that the world No. 4 duo are supporting each other and enjoying their game more.
“Ee Wei has been encouraging Tang Jie, and she is also enjoying her game more. Both are in good spirits and highly motivated,” Rexy said. He added that while there are no major changes, the pair have shown positive signs in training.
Despite the optimism, Rexy urged caution, noting the short time left before the tournament and the pair’s challenging year. Tang Jie and Ee Wei had temporarily split in March due to a strained relationship but reunited shortly after. They have yet to reach a final in 2025, highlighting the hurdles they still face.
