National mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei have shown encouraging progress in recent training sessions, a boost ahead of their campaign at the Badminton World Championships starting next Monday in Paris.
Academy Badminton Malaysia coaching director Rexy Mainaky noted improvements from the world No.4 duo and hopes they can carry that momentum into the tournament.
“Although it’s not yet significant, I see positive development from Tang Jie and Ee Wei,” Rexy told reporters.
The pair have endured a challenging season, failing to reach a final in 2025 and exiting in the semi-finals five times, including at the Macau Open. They also briefly split in March before reuniting a month later.
Rexy urged the pair to put past setbacks behind them and avoid repeating mistakes as they aim for success in Paris.
