Gianluigi Donnarumma is on the verge of joining Manchester City after agreeing personal terms with the Premier League champions, according to L’Équipe.

The Italy captain was left out of Paris Saint-Germain’s squad for tonight’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Tottenham, with head coach Luis Enrique confirming he wants a “different profile” of goalkeeper. PSG have already lined up his successor, signing Lucas Chevalier from Lille for around £50m.
Donnarumma, widely regarded as one of the world’s best goalkeepers, has bid farewell to PSG and its supporters on social media. Talks with both Manchester clubs have been ongoing for months, but the 25-year-old has chosen Pep Guardiola’s side after a direct conversation with the City boss.
A deal, expected to cost between £25m and £45m, hinges on Ederson’s departure. City have already invested nearly £40m in James Trafford this summer and are open to letting Stefan Ortega leave as well.
Manchester United’s inability to offload André Onana is believed to have cost them a shot at signing Donnarumma.
