Jamie Vardy is settling into Serie A life after joining Cremonese, with the striker and his wife Becky taking intensive Italian lessons to adapt to their new surroundings.

The couple have relocated to a £2m villa in Salo, on the shores of Lake Garda, a picturesque town once home to wartime dictator Benito Mussolini. Vardy, 37, has already mastered some of the more “colourful” phrases in Italian, with insiders claiming he is quickly picking up the language.
A source close to the family said: “Jamie and Becky are already loving Italian life, and doing all they can to blend in seamlessly. The whole family is having Italian lessons, and Jamie is already au fait with some of the more colourful swear words.”
Becky, who reportedly fell in love with Lake Garda during a holiday, has embraced the move with their children, as the family throws itself fully into Italian culture despite Vardy’s hefty daily commute — their new home is around 80km from Cremonese’s training ground and stadium.
The former Leicester City and England striker made his debut in a 0-0 draw against Verona on Monday, coming off the bench in the second half to a huge ovation from the home fans. Becky was in the stands alongside other WAGs, as photographers captured every moment of their arrival.
Vardy told Italian media that his family is “buzzing with excitement” about the move and eager to immerse themselves in a new culture and language. Cremonese supporters hope their new talisman can provide the goals needed to keep the Serie A newcomers in the top flight.
