The Miami Heat are reportedly pushing to sign Klay Thompson, hoping to add an elite shooter alongside Giannis Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo.
Thompson could become available if the Dallas Mavericks agree to a buyout, with Miami and the Los Angeles Lakers emerging as potential destinations. The Heat are particularly interested because of their need for reliable perimeter shooting.
According to NBA reporter Jake Fischer, Miami are desperate to land Thompson, but they would prefer to sign him as a free agent rather than acquire him via trade.
The four-time NBA champion has earned around $298 million during his career and remains one of the league’s most accomplished shooters.
Adding Thompson would give Miami another proven scoring threat and potentially provide the spacing needed to maximize Giannis and Bam.
If Klay joins Giannis in Miami, the Heat could suddenly become a very different team.
