Lautaro Martínez has confirmed that Barcelona’s interest in him was real, but the Inter captain made it clear that he never wanted to leave San Siro.
“When these offers and calls arrive, it’s always pleasing because you work to stay at the top. The rumours were true, but I have very clear ideas.”
The Argentine striker said he wanted to remain with his Inter teammates and fans, adding that he would stay forever as long as the club still wanted him.
Barcelona had viewed Lautaro as a potential alternative to Julián Álvarez, but no deal materialised as Inter stood firm on keeping their star forward.
For Lautaro, however, the decision was simple: Inter is where he wants to be.
