Lautaro Martínez continued his excellent form for Argentina, scoring in a 7-0 demolition of Burkina Faso at the Monumental.

The Inter striker opened the scoring in the fourth minute. His penalty was saved by Razack Guira, but Lautaro reacted quickest to bury the rebound. He also assisted Gianluca Prestianni for Argentina’s third goal before being substituted at half-time.
The goal was Lautaro’s fourth consecutive game on target for Argentina and took his international tally to 42 goals in 86 appearances, moving him outright into third place on Argentina’s all-time scoring list, ahead of Sergio Agüero. Only Gabriel Batistuta and Lionel Messi have scored more.
Argentina led 5-0 at half-time before Franco Mastantuono and Giuliano Simeone added two more after the break. The result gives Scaloni’s side another convincing win ahead of Messi’s expected farewell against Benin on October 6.
