Max Verstappen praised Red Bull for delivering an “unbelievable weekend” after securing victory at the Italian Grand Prix, admitting he felt “flying” despite early drama.

Starting from pole, Verstappen faced an initial challenge from Lando Norris, briefly losing the lead after skipping the chicane before returning to P1 within a few laps. From there, the World Champion controlled the race, pulling away to win by 19 seconds ahead of Norris.
Reflecting on his performance at Monza, Verstappen said, “It was a great day for us. Lap 1 was a bit unlucky, but after that we were flying and it was really enjoyable. The whole team executed fantastically, and the pace was well managed throughout the first stint.”
He added that settling into the race after the early tussle was key, noting, “I could see their medium pace was very good. I just needed to settle in, and then quite quickly we were back in the lead.”
The Italian GP marked Verstappen’s third victory of the season. When asked about future opportunities, he remained focused, saying, “We’ll go step by step, race by race, but for us this was of course an unbelievable weekend.”
