Alejandro Garnacho has described Chelsea as the “best team in the world” after completing a £40 million transfer from Manchester United.

The 21-year-old winger has signed a seven-year deal with the Blues, in what marks United’s biggest ever sale of an academy graduate. The deal also includes a sell-on clause.
Garnacho’s departure follows a late-season fallout with United boss Rúben Amorim, after which he was told to seek a new club.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official website, Garnacho said:
“It’s an incredible moment for my family and I to join this great club. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special – we’re the best team in the world!”
Garnacho joined United from Atlético Madrid’s academy in 2020 for £420,000.
