The uncertainty is over—women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah have pledged their future to the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) through to the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.

The world No. 3 duo will officially sign their new contract before departing for the Japan Open (July 15–20), ending months of speculation after their previous deal expired in December.
Their renewed commitment cements their role as Malaysia’s top Olympic gold hopefuls. BAM president Tengku Zafrul Abdul Aziz had promised to settle the contract talks before the Japan trip, and he delivered.
Following Tokyo, Pearly-Thinaah will compete in the China Open (July 22–27) and then gear up for the World Championships in Paris (Aug 25–31). Their recent performances have been impressive, including a title in Thailand, a runner-up finish in Indonesia, and strong showings in Malaysia and Singapore.
