After nearly a decade of unforgettable memories, Heung-min Son has officially confirmed his departure from Tottenham Hotspur, bringing an end to a golden era at the club.

The 32-year-old South Korean forward, the last remaining starter from Spurs’ 2019 Champions League final team, announced in a press conference during Tottenham’s pre-season tour of South Korea that he will leave with one year left on his contract.
“I arrived in North London as a kid who didn’t speak English. I leave as a proud man,” said Son. “This is the hardest decision of my career, but I’ve achieved everything I could at Tottenham. It’s time for a new challenge.”
Son exits the club with 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 appearances, along with a long-awaited piece of silverware — the 2025 Europa League title, won against Manchester United.
He shared that his decision was met with respect by teammates and manager alike:
“It was hard to tell them, because we spend so much time together. They were disappointed, but happy for me too.”
According to The Athletic, Son is being courted by clubs from the Saudi Pro League and Turkish giants Fenerbahçe, but sources suggest his preference is a move to Los Angeles FC in Major League Soccer.
A Spurs legend through and through, Son leaves behind a legacy of class, consistency, and connection with fans that will be hard to match.
