World No. 9 Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin Rumsani battled past Japan’s Hiroki Okamura-Kyohei Yamashita to reach the second round of the Thailand Open on Wednesday.

The Malaysian pair were tested in a three-game clash before securing a 21-15, 17-21, 21-12 victory at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.
Despite being ranked No. 163, the Japanese duo have shown promising form since partnering earlier this year, finishing runners-up at the Orleans Masters in March.
Sze Fei-Izzuddin will next take on China’s Huang Di-Liu Yang for a place in the quarter-finals.
