Manchester United fans have a new reason to be excited about the academy, as Kai Rooney delivered a stunning four-goal performance in a 6-0 victory over Burnley U18s.
The 16-year-old striker opened the scoring in the 22nd minute before converting a penalty shortly after half-time. He completed his hat-trick in the 63rd minute and added his fourth goal just three minutes later, showing impressive finishing instincts inside the box.
Jaume Camacho and Noah Ajayi also found the net to complete the emphatic victory. Kai has now scored five goals and provided one assist in three U18 Premier League appearances this season, continuing his promising development at the club where his father, Wayne Rooney, became a legend.
With Manchester United’s senior team struggling for consistency, some supporters are already calling for Kai to be fast-tracked into the first team. However, the teenager is still at an early stage of his development, and patience will be crucial as he works towards senior football.
