Fourteen-year-old Lim You stole the spotlight by scoring seven goals as Malaysia’s Malayan Tigress U-17 team demolished Saudi Arabia 9-0 at the Srikandi Merdeka Cup.
Lim scored in the 8th, 22nd, 27th, 57th, 75th, 83rd and 85th minutes, including a free-kick and a penalty. Malaysia also completed the rout despite playing with 10 players for most of the match following a red card.
The victory sent Malaysia into the semi-finals, finishing second in Group A on goal difference.
For Lim, it was a remarkable breakthrough performance at just 14 years old — and potentially the arrival of a very exciting young Malaysian football talent.
