Lee Zii Jia continued his solid run of form by successfully clearing his opening qualifying match at the Thailand Open in Bangkok.

He beat India’s world No. 294 Manav Choudhary 21–19, 21–18 in just 31 minutes at the Nimibutr Stadium. The match was competitive in both games, but Zii Jia managed to hold his nerve in the key points to close it out in straight games.
This follows his strong performance at the Thomas Cup, where he remained unbeaten in all three of his matches, even though Malaysia exited in the quarter-finals.
Next, he faces either Indonesia’s Muhamad Yusuf or Taiwan’s Liao Jhuo Fu, with a spot in the main draw of the Super 500 tournament on the line.
Overall, it’s a positive sign for him as he looks to rebuild momentum—his recent results suggest his match sharpness and confidence are trending upward again.
