Vinicius Junior is closing in on signing a lucrative new long-term contract with Real Madrid, a move that would effectively end Arsenal’s hopes of pulling off one of the biggest transfers in football.
The Brazilian winger has been strongly linked with Arsenal in recent weeks, with reports claiming the Premier League club were prepared to make a record-breaking offer if contract talks with Madrid collapsed. However, negotiations between Vinicius and the Spanish giants have now made significant progress.
Real Madrid have reportedly tabled an improved deal that would make Vinicius one of the club’s highest-paid players. Although a few contractual details still need to be finalised, both sides are increasingly confident an agreement will be reached soon.
