Australian UFC contender Quillan Salkilld is open to facing Benoit Saint-Denis at Madison Square Garden in November after his stunning first-round stoppage of Mateusz Gamrot.
The 26-year-old produced the biggest win of his career at UFC Vegas 120, becoming the first fighter to stop Gamrot in the opening round and further establishing himself as a serious threat in the lightweight division.
Following the victory, Salkilld said he is targeting an opponent who can help him break into the division’s Top 5. While he did not have a specific name in mind, he admitted a fight against Saint-Denis at Madison Square Garden would be an exciting opportunity.
With his momentum continuing to build, Salkilld could be closing in on a major step up the lightweight rankings.
