Suakim’s Incredible Comeback Earns ONE Championship Title Opportunity

After walking away from Muay Thai at the peak of his career, Suakim is now just one win away from fighting for ONE Championship gold.

The 30-year-old will face former ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Nabil Anane in the main event of The Inner Circle 25 on August 7. The winner will secure a world title shot against reigning champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.

Suakim’s journey back to the top has been nothing short of remarkable. A three-division Lumpinee Stadium champion, he retired from Muay Thai in 2019 after an illustrious career before being persuaded to return four years later by ONE Championship Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong.

The comeback, however, was far from easy.

“When I first came back, the training was brutal. Even as a grown man, there were times I felt like crying because my body just wasn’t used to it. As time went on, the camps got tougher,” Suakim admitted.

Despite compiling an outstanding professional record of 156 wins and 60 losses, the years away from competition meant he had to rebuild both his fitness and sharpness from scratch.

Now, after overcoming the challenges of retirement and returning to elite competition, Suakim stands on the verge of completing one of the greatest comeback stories in ONE Championship with a chance to fight for world title glory.
