Álvarez Declares War on Atlético

Julián Álvarez’s relationship with Atlético Madrid has taken a dramatic turn, with the Argentine reportedly telling club officials “Do not count on me” as he pushes for a move to Barcelona.

Álvarez reportedly wanted a face-to-face meeting with Diego Simeone to discuss his future, but the Atlético coach was away in Ibiza. CEO Miguel Ángel Gil Marín was also unavailable, leaving the striker furious.

According to reports, Álvarez believes Atlético had promised in February that he would be allowed to leave this summer. He now feels frustrated by the club’s handling of the situation and is determined to force through his move to Barcelona.

Simeone has publicly insisted Atlético want to keep Álvarez, but the latest developments suggest the transfer saga is becoming increasingly difficult to resolve.

Álvarez is reportedly prepared to take further action when Simeone returns to training on Wednesday.
