The seeding pots for the 2026/27 Champions League league-phase draw have been confirmed, with 36 teams set to discover their opponents.
Under the new format, each club will face eight different opponents — two from each of the four pots, with four matches at home and four away.
The draw is particularly interesting because Pot 1 teams can now face each other, meaning clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City and Bayern Munich could be handed heavyweight opponents from the same pot.
The league phase will determine the knockout picture: the top eight qualify directly for the last 16, while teams finishing 9th to 24th enter the knockout play-offs. Teams finishing 25th or lower are eliminated from European competition.
